This book provides a coherent picture and reveals a wide panoramic view of the artistic life of Ukrainians living in Quebec, with its colorful palette, from the period of first settlements to the present day. At the heart of this publication are carefully gleaned archival photographs and jubilee booklets of churches and civic organizations, materials from private collections, collected stories and memories shared by older members of the community, the long-time residents of Montreal, and recent arrivals. This book allows to get acquainted with the work of not only those Ukrainian artists who were or are native to this province, but also those who were connected with Quebec for a short while due to life’s circumstances. You will also have the opportunity to discover many interesting facts about the cultural and artistic kaleidoscope that is the Ukrainian community.
